Hockey, Horses and Hydrants (oh my)- April Newsletter

Let’s be honest: Chicago is probably the greatest sports city in the world.  We cheer for our teams as if they were our own.  Literally.  So that got us thinking…what if you could actually own a piece of Chicago sports?  Check out Eddie O’s thoughts on the subject and maybe you can.
Then bust out your best bow tie and big floppy hat for the Illinois Derby…talk about a great Chicago sports tradition — it’s like our city’s version of the Kentucky Derby.  We’ll bet you $5,000 to prove it.
Speaking of speed (rough jump cut, that one): did you know the Chicago Fire Department has the fastest emergency response time in the nation.  Maybe the next horse we own with Eddie will be called Chicago’s Bravest.  Just thinkin’ out loud here…

Fire hydrants.  File under: Things Taken For Granted.  But there they are.  Everywhere.  Thousands and thousands of them, all over the city, connected by miles and miles of underground pipes.  Always at the ready to keep our city safe…just like the brave men and women of the Chicago Fire Department.

So here’s what we’re going to do:

Create 5-foot tall fiberglass fire hydrants.

Give them to Chicago artists.

Put them on display all over the city in tribute to Chicago’s 101 firehouses.

And then auction them to raise money for fire-related charities like the 100 Club of Chicago.  Sound cool?

If you’d like to sponsor a hydrant, email us.  There’s only 101 after all.

Many, many thanks to everyone that supported our 2nd annual polar plunge for Special Olympics.  With some good friends and great clients along for the fun, we helped raise several thousand dollars for a great cause.

And now you can watch us freeze our asses off…
